Wednesday, January 29, 2003 ( 1/29/2003 02:55:00 PM ) Jeanne I've been out of commision with both of the kids sick, not at the same time of course! I've also been working as a temp at the university bookstore during beginning semester rush. Today was my last day, I spent it at home with Micaela who is sick. We went to a party last week that left me feeling very alienated and lonely. It was a very large gathering of Argentineans and I found that I very much miss having some sort of community around me. My entire social life pretty much revolves around my family and while I love them I do need some relationships outside of that. One way I'm expanding is that we've been matched in an international hospitality program with a couple from Taiwan. They're expecting a baby in April and from the little I know about them so far sound very interesting. I'm really enjoying the fact that my association with large chain grocery stores is practically null since I joined the food coop. I found a wonderful resource on responsible consumerism http://www.coopamerica.org. Our grocery bills have lowered significantly. I think this is as much due to my discount and coop prices as to the fact that there is less opportunity for buying things we really don't need. # |
